Sacramento Children's Home

The Sacramento Children's Home is committed to preventing child abuse, caring for troubled children, enabling families to meet the needs of their children, and helping these children to become productive, responsible adults.

VITEKians adopted 30 children and donated nearly $7,000 worth of toys to fulfill their wish list from children at the home last year, as well as a additional items for the home's nursery. Each year VITEK hopes to do even more!

March of Dimes™

VITEK is proud to be a gold sponsor at the Best of Sacramento Party to benefit the March of Dimes™. The March of Dimes™ objective is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects and infant mortality through research, community services, education and advocacy to save babies' lives. March of Dimes™ researchers, volunteers, educators, outreach workers and advocates work together to give all babies a fighting chance against the threats to their health: prematurity, birth defects, low birth weight.

Run to Feed the Hungry

VITEK is a bronze sponsor in Hanson McClain's™ Run to Feed the Hungry for the Sacramento Food Bank Services©(SFBS). SFBS is dedicated to assisting those in need by alleviating their immediate pain and problems and moving them toward self sufficiency and financial independence. Run to Feed the Hungry began back in 1994 with nearly 800 runners and walkers. Last year 14,100 participants ran and walked together to raise more than $300,000 for the Sacramento Food Bank Services©. Join us Thanksgiving morning to support our community in need.

Adopt-A-Waterway™

VITEKians are often found navigating the white waters of California's rivers. As avid river runners, we support Adopt-A-Waterway™ in its mission to raise awareness of the importance of clean watersheds and the role we can each play in keeping our rivers clean.

SAR CanTree

VITEK actively participates with SAR in the annual Christmas CanTree - benefiting the Salvation Army. The Christmas CanTree is SAR's trademark fundraiser for the hungry in the community. For over 20 years, SAR has been raising funds and building a giant tree made of canned foods which help feed those in the community who need help. For the past few years, collections from REALTOR® and Affiliate offices and individuals have generated over $100,000 for the Salvation Army's Christmas Food Basket Program. Offices of all sizes host individual fundraising events to support this effort. VITEK contributes to many realtor events such as crab feeds, silent auctions, yard sales, raffles and chili cook-offs which have raised from $250 to $20,000.

I'll Be Aware

Albie Carson was an exemplary realtor and a friend of the community. She died of breast cancer on July 4, 2002 and left behind a loving husband and two sons. Tragically, Albie's death was not necessary. She lost her life because she was not AWARE of all the available tests and treatments for breast cancer.

The Albie Carson Breast Cancer Foundation was established to prevent such tragedies.

Specifically, the goal of the foundation is to promote AWARENESS, PREVENTION, DETECTION and TREATMENT options for women facing breast cancer - options they might not know exist-options that might save their life. Each year, not only does VITEK contribute to the foundation but also participates in the 5K pledge walk.

School Programming (SAFE)

School Activities For Everyone (SAFE) is a non-profit organization helping high-school kids - who couldn't otherwise afford it - to have a chance to join the team, run the race, play the instrument, and be a part of other important school activities. SAFE is dedicated to providing financial assistance and direct services to students, giving them the opportunity to participate in the complete high school experience. VITEK is proud to be one of the major contributors in the SAFE program.
