We are seeking a professional Health Communication Specialist to join our growing team. The successful applicant will be responsible for creating communications materials, presentation, talking point, outreach programs, articles, managing content, and developing and executing communications plans and campaigns. In this role, you will work with internal resources to gather, document, present, and support communications activities and related deliverable for a variety of audiences (both technical and non-technical).
Health Communication Specialist Responsibilities:
- Develop communication materials ready for print or electronic distribution
- Develop presentations and talking points
- Develop communication, outreach, and content management plans
- Produce articles, when needed, for a variety of audiences
- Conduct stakeholder engagement and outreach efforts
- Track successes, engagement, and outreach efforts
- Provide quality assurance reviews on SharePoint, Wiki, and Website content and make updates
- Engage with staff at all organizational levels
- Elicit and document requirements. Create communications deliverable to support requirements
- Ensure plain language and 508 compliance standards are upheld across all material development
- Other duties as assigned
Health Communication Specialist qualifications and skills:
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, or Public Health. Masters or other advanced degree in relevant discipline strongly preferred. Prior federal experience a plus. Minimum 5 years’ related experience.
